Live and let dye
We’ve all read those horrifying stories of toxic technicolour sewage spewing out of the world’s garment factories and contaminating the water table, so it’s nice to find a brand that’s using gentler dyes to colour their clothes. Made in 20% recycled cotton, these relaxed fit shorts are perfect for muggy summer days. They've got a comfortable elasticated waistband with a drawstring adjuster, plus roomy patch pockets. The dyes are 100% plant-based, and depending on the colour, your shorts might have been coloured with fermented indigo pigment or the dried galls of the Chinese Sumac tree – a black tannic dye that's been used in Japan since the ninth century

Snow Peak's journey began in 1958, when the founder Yukio Yamai, an accomplished mountaineer, created his own line of superior climbing gear. Snow Peak then looked to evolve by shifting its focus from the mountaineering equipment of the past to the camping equipment of the future. Fueled by the booming national interest in auto-camping sweeping across Japan, Snow Peak released a series of radically innovative products which focused on quality, functionality, timeless-durability and considered design.
